.``Over the last 10 years I have lost count of the number of
complaints made to me about the condition of the Dog Park. Regular users are absolutely frustrated with the apparent lack of concern the council has shown regarding
their complaints. Fair and reasonable maintenance has been replaced with serious neglect."
``The general consensus is that the basic design of the Park is good. It is great to have a generous, fully
fenced area available to use. But every asset requires ongoing care to ensure it remains suitable for its intended use.
Currently the area suffers from partial flooding during rain periods, rendering it dangerous and basically
unusable. No adequate pathway means walking in muddy puddles has resulted in people slipping and falling over. Dogs come out filthy and muddy. In summer time the complete lack of any grass means
that the Dogs are filthy by the time they have played with their friends.

I conducted a recent inspection of the Dog Park to
confirm my latest complaint and was dumb founded to find the extent of the degradation had reached new lows. Soil has been allowed to erode over a
long time from covering sharp edged steel plates on top of the ``Pipe Features". The exposure of these plates is a real danger to all dogs. Nobody would like to see their dog's toes or pads severed by these!
Nobody wants to see the Dog Park closed but it is fair and reasonable for the Dog Owners in Golden Grove to expect this Community asset to be properly maintained and upgraded by the Tea Tree Gully
Council. Everyone is asking what do we get for our dog registrations and fines? Where are the funds going and why won't the council listen to us and take our complaints seriously.
It's time to take action and Brett Westlake, Aussie Pooch Mobile Master Franchisee, is leading the way by providing all Dog Owners the opportunity to register their comments, experiences and
suggestions for improvements.
We hope to provide an e-petition to this page shortly so that everyone can ensure the council will hear our collective BARK.
